Obituary of Barbara Asher

Barbara Asher, 81 of Hyden, Kentucky, departed this walk of life on Wednesday, December 07, 2016 at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center. Born December 19, 1934 in Perry County, Kentucky to the union of the late Canie & Dora Walters. She spent her early years and Perry County and had been a resident of Leslie County for the majority of her life. Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cooking. She enjoyed being surrounded by her family and cherished the time spent with them.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward Asher, and one sister, Ina Barnett.

Barbara leaves behind, three sons, Edward Asher, Jr. (Micki) of Middletown, OH, Randy Asher (Belinda) and Charles "Chucky" Asher (Jan), both of Hyden, KY; one daughter, Doris Lawson (Kenneth, Jr.) of Hyden, KY; three brothers, Canie "Buddy" Walters, Jr. (Verna), Charles Walters (Pam), and Vernon "Gene" Walters (Leah "Mai"), all of Trenton, OH; five sisters, Helen Mitchell of Louisville, KY, June Shepherd (Lenvil) of Somerville, OH, Marry Melton of Indianapolis, IN, Viola Bendell (Jerry) of Franklin, OH, and Delores Knapp (Dick) of Trenton, OH; thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

Friends will gather for a memorial celebration of Barbara's life beginning at 11:00 A.M., Saturday in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with services to follow at 1:00 P.M.
