Jess Willard Feltner

Mr. Jess Willard Feltner, 77 of Hyden, Kentucky, departed this walk of life on June 23, 2016. Born December 31, 1938 in Hyden, Kentucky to the union of the late Emanuel and Laura Lewis Feltner. Jess had been a life-long resident of Leslie County. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ. Jess was a UK basketball fan. He enjoyed bluegrass music, playing the guitar, fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, Jess is preceded in death by his wife, Alta Marie Jones Feltner, son, Jerry Lee Feltner, one daughter, Della Feltner, siblings, Clarence Feltner, Mae Mary Farler, Lula Gross, Sadie Feltner, Bob Feltner, Bessie Feltner, Enos Feltner, Nola Stidham, Ray Feltner, Martha Feltner, Russell Feltner, Mabel Hoskins, Becky Braden, Charlie Feltner and Nellie Feltner.

Survivors include, three sons, Jess Willard Feltner, Jr. (Mary) of WV, James Jeffery Feltner of Jackson, KY, Clarence Dwayne Feltner (Peggy) of PA, five daughters, Judy E. Hensley (Tim) of Wooton, KY, Betty Bailey (James) of Stinnett, KY, Fransis Kay Lewis (Bill) of Wooton, KY, Carla Fouts (David) of Hyden, KY, and Geri Adams (Jerome) of Wooton, KY, one sister, Janie Feltner of Hazard, KY, ten grandchildren, Joshua Hensley, Aaron Hensley, Jesse Fouts, Jimmy Feltner, Jessica Feltner, Taylor Adams, Spencer Adams, Cody Bailey, Alta Feltner, and Megan Feltner, five great-grandchildren, Kayley Hensley, Tyler Hensley, Lexi Hensley, Peyton Fouts and Colton Fouts; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, KY with Rev. Bill Joe Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at the Hurricane Cemetery at Hyden, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M., Saturday evening at the church.
