Malcom Coots

Malcom Coots, 64 of Polls Creek Road, Smilax, Kentucky, died Wednesday, March 23, 2017. Malcom was born March 12, 1953 in Perry County, Kentucky to the union of Paul Coots and the late Pauline Fields Coots. Malcom was a former coal miner and worked lastly as a security guard before becoming ill. In addition to his mother, Malcom is preceded in death by one son, Scottie Coots, one brother, Danny, mother of his children, Martha Ervin Coots, and two infant nephews.

Survivors include, his loving and devoted wife, Eva Couch Coots of Smilax, KY; two sons, Junior Coots (Amanda) of London, KY and Danny Coots of Smilax, KY; two daughters, Benita Coots of Beattyville, KY and Amanda Garden (Laney) of Hampton, TN; brothers, Ernest Coots (Crystal) of Smilax, KY, Steven Coots (Lillie Mae) of Smilax, KY, Keith Coots (Linda) of Hyden, KY, and Elmer Coots (Tina) of Wooton, KY; sisters, Donna Woods (Dean) of Hyden, KY, Kathy Carroll (Jr.) of Smilax, KY, and Shirley Baker (Gary) of Yeaddiss, KY; two step-children, Jessica Falls (John) of Manchester, KY and Brian Estep (Jessica) of London, KY; nineteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Saturday at the Smilax Church of Christ - Smilax, KY with Harold Turner, Danny Day and Mike Joseph officiating. Interment will follow at the Paul and Pauline Coots Cemetery at Smilax. Visitation will be held after 5PM Friday evening at the church.
