Edith Collett, 85 of Corbin, Kentucky, formally of Essie, Kentucky, departed this walk of life on Friday, February 02, 2018 in Corbin, Kentucky. Edith was born December 23, 1932 in Essie, Kentucky to the union of the late Elmer and Delora Mosley Collett. She was a loving homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted member of the Bowen’s Creek United Baptist Church at Essie, Kentucky where she attended for many years. Edith loved to sew and quilt. In her formative years, Edith enjoyed fishing and gardening.
In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Collett; a step-grandson, Tim Howard and two sisters, Susie Holland and Pauline Collett.
Edith leaves behind two loving children, Earl Wayne Collett & wife, Betty of Roark, Kentucky and Freda Howard & husband, Jack of Corbin, KY; six brothers, Earl Collett & wife, Mary, Kenneth Collett & wife, Louella, John Collett & wife, Carolyn, Marcus Collett & wife, Emily, Doyle Collett, and Freddie Collett & wife, Rita; four sisters, Fern Maxwell, Joyce Hunley & husband, Eugene, Geraldine Collett & husband, Mason, and Rosetta Sizemore & husband, Steve; her cherished grandchildren whom she adored, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her passing.
