Mr. Landon Amos was born, In Clintwood, VA on November 08, 1945. He was born to the union of the late Clayton and Lola Taylor Amos. Landon had been a resident of Leslie County for much of his life. He was united in marriage to his beloved wife, Ruby Stewart Amos on December 24, 1965. Landon had a distinguished career with the Leslie County (15 years) and T.D.S. (21 years) Telephone companies, having retired with 36 years of combined service. Landon gave his heart to the Lord, shortly after the passing of his wife, Ruby. He became a faithful and active member of the Hyden Baptist Church. Landon enjoyed the outdoors, always making sure his yard and home were well groomed. Landon enjoyed people and socializing with others. Many times, you could find him in front of the court house with his friends. Landon passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the Mary Breckinridge ARH Hospital, he was 73 years old.
In addition to his parents, Landon was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Ruby Amos on November 19, 2016, two brothers, Claude and Roger Amos, one sister, Sharon Amos and one infant brother, Larry Preston Amos.
Landon leaves behind two loving and devoted daughters, Marsha Gail Amos (David Hoskins) and Oma Carol Amos (Randy Caldwell), both of Hyden, Kentucky, and one sister, Carolyn Faye Hensley of Somerset, Kentucky. Additional extended family members and friends also survives his passing.
