Mrs. Gladys Mosley Begley, born September 01, 1921 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late Boyd and Lillie Cook Mosley. Gladys went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 01, 2010 at the Hazard ARH Medical Center in Hazard, KY at the age of 88 years and 9 months. Gladys was a Life long resident of Leslie County. After graduating from the Leslie County High School, she attended the Cumberland College to attain her teaching degree, she then attended the Eastern Kentucky University. Gladys was united in marriage to her late husband Saul Begley on December 01, 1945. She was a retired school teacher from the Leslie County School System after serving for 25 years. She was a very faithful and dedicated member of the Hyden Baptist Church. She was a former Sunday school and Bible school teacher. She enjoyed sewing, reading, going to church, vacationing with his family and visiting with her grandchildren, family and friends. She is preceded in death by: her parents; her husband: Saul Begley; Two sons: John Phillip and James Roger; Three brothers: Mark, James and Everett Mosley. Two sisters: Elva Morgan and Anna Lee Hoskins. Mrs. Gladys Mosley Begley leaves the following relatives surviving: Her loving daughter: Fran Shell and husband Steve of Hyden, KY; Two daughter-in-laws: Vicki Hackman Begley and Diane Begley; Special sister-in-law: Mary Mosley; Two sisters: Gertrude Lewis of Lancaster, CA and Helen Asher and husband John of Ohio. Special friend: Jean Campbell; Special companion and friend: "KIP". Five grandchildren: Tammy, Mike, John, Amy and Tina. Ten great grandchildren: Kyle, Daniel, Alex, Katie, John Phillip, John Matthew, Branson, Stephen, Marshall and Sofia. A host of nieces, nephews, other family, church family and friends also survive.
