Floyd Osborne

Floyd Osborne of Hyden, Kentucky departed this walk of life on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Hyden Health & Rehab at the age of 86 years, 08 months and 21 days. He was born May 22, 1929 in Thousandsticks, Kentucky to the union of the late Gillie and Bessie Holland Osborne. By occupation, Floyd was a well known, self-employed concrete and construction worker. Floyd was a life-long resident of Leslie County, and was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church. He enjoyed going to church, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends. Other than his parents, Floyd is preceded in death by one infant son, David Lee Osborne, son-in-law, Claude Rice, Jr., brother, Raleigh Osborne, one sister, Annie Gibson, brothers-in-law: Howard Gibson and Eddie Sizemore, sister-in-law, Dallie Osborne.

Floyd is survived by, one son, Floyd Osborne, Jr. (Sarah) of Thousandsticks, KY, four daughters, Rose Ann Rice of Thousandsticks, KY, Barbara Leddington (Tony) of West Carrolton, OH, and Janet Asher (Charles) of Thousandsticks, KY, five brothers, Elmer Osborne (Dorothy) of London, KY, Golden Osborne, Gerald Osborne (Betty), Hurl Osborne (Nancy) and Cecil Osborne (Aileen), all of Thousandsticks, KY, four sisters, Laura Osborne and Daphne Sizemore, both of Thousandsticks, KY, Lynda (Karl) of Ohio and Mary Ellen Lambert of Beattyville, KY. Floyd is also survived by and host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at the Thousandsticks United Methodist Church with Jerry Holland, Randy Woods and Jerry McKinley Holland officiating. Burial will follow in the Gillie Osborne Cemetery at Thousandsticks, KY. The family will receive friends after 6:00 P.M., Tuesday evening at the church.
