Mr. Gordon Sizemore
Mr. Gordon Sizemore, 71, of Gulston, Kentucky passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Gordon was born March 08, 1952 at Oakley Cave in Roark, Kentucky, a son of the late Jack and Cordie Phillips Sizemore. Gordon was united in marriage to Sandra Causey on May 31, 1974 in Harlan, Kentucky. To their union was born two beloved children, Daniel Irvine Sizemore, and who precedes Gordon in Death, and Jessica Howard & husband, Jason of Stinnett, KY.
Gordon was a coal miner by occupation. He worked in the coal industry for more than twenty years before becoming disabled. Gordan was of the Pentecostal faith and faithfully attended the Grays Knob Church of God and Cawood Pentecostal Church.
Gordon was a talented musician and used his talents for the Lord. He enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. Gordon’s hobbies included fishing and gardening. Above all, he cherished the time spent with the family whom he loved dearly. Gordon was also a master craftsman. He built many things, but his expertise was in bookshelves and quilt racks.
Gordon was a loving husband for 48 years, father, brother, and friend.
Besides his parents and son, Gordon was preceded in death by two brothers, Irvin, and Manning Sizemore.
In addition to his beloved wife and daughter, Gordon is survived by eight cherished siblings, Aubrey Sizemore (Alice) of Yorba Linda, CA, Erskin Sizemore (Marilyn) of Washington State, Burley Sizemore (Barbara) of Mansfield, OH, Tommy Sizemore and Cecil Sizemore, both of Harlan, KY, Ollie Whitaker of Rutledge, TN, Edna Nicholes (John) of Shawnee, OK, and Lucy Ulrich (Bobby) of Bell Co., KY. Daughter-in-law Jessica Sizemore of Evarts, Ky. Five cherished grandchildren, Cameron Howard, Chase Sizemore, Ashton Sizemore, Alex Howard and Nathan Howard. A host of other relatives and friends also survive his passing.
Family and friends may gather for visitation from 12noon until 1p.m. Saturday at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home. A graveside will follow the visitation at the Farley Cemetery at Hoskinston, KY with Bobby Smith and Kenny Fields reading the obituary and scripture. Cameron Howard, Nathan Howard, Alex Howard, Brady Fields, Drew Fields, Kenny Fields, Bobby Smith, Chase Sizemore and Ashton Sizemore will be serving as pallbearers.
Interment will follow in the Farley Cemetery at Hoskinston, Kentucky
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
