Bonnie Jean Morgan was born July 12, 1942, in Caliopi, KY to the union of the late Elbert Jones and Dora Griffie. She was of the Church of God faith and was a member of the Stinnett Gap Church of God at Stinnett, KY.
Bonnie was united in marriage to Johnny James Morgan, Jr. on January 17, 1958, at Bear Branch, KY. By occupation, Bonnie was a self-employed business owner and a homemaker. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening and collecting dolls. Above all, Bonnie Jean cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.
Bonnie departed this walk of life on Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center. She was 80 years old.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her brothers, Edmond Jones, Johnny Hays Hamrick and Jim Jones. One infant sister, Mary Louise Hamrick. One brother-in-law, Bobby Roberts and one sister-n-law, Betty Jones.
Survivors include her loving and devoted husband of 65 years Johnny J. Morgan, Jr. of Stinnett, KY. Four beloved sons, Bobby Lane Morgan (Michele), Edmond E. Morgan (Angela), Johnny J. Morgan (Elizabeth) and Elbert W. Morgan, all of Stinnett, KY. One beloved daughter, Linda L. Roberts (Donnie) of Stinnett, KY, two brothers, Len Richard Hamrick (Leona) of Hyden, KY and Floyd E. Jones of Tipp City, OH. One sister, Belvia Roberts of Stinnett, KY. Thirteen cherished grandchildren, nine cherished great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
The funeral service for Bonnie Jean Morgan will be held at 1p.m. – Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Stinnett Gap Church of God with Geoffrey Roberts and Mickey Roberts officiating.
Interment will follow the services at the Johnny Morgan Cemetery at Stinnett, KY with Sylvester Morgan, James A. Morgan, Edmond Morgan, Donavan Roberts, Jake Lewis, Mark Couch, Benjamin Roberts, Johnny J. Morgan, Nathan Conley, Donnie Roberts, Richie Hamrick and Robert Bray serving as pallbearers.
The family of Bonnie Jean Morgan will receive friends at the Stinnett Gap Church of God on Friday evening from 5p.m. – 9p.m.
