Chester Wayne Asher was born December 09, 1956 in Leslie County, KY to the union of the late Omer and Fannie Osborne Asher.

Chester had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and by occupation he was a coal miner.  His dedication to the coal industry lead him to a distinguished career as a Mine Forman.  A tenure that span for over 47 years, including Whitaker Coal, James River, and Black Hawk Mines.   Outside of work, Chester enjoyed riding motorcycles.  

Chester passed away suddenly on July 22, 2026 at the Mary Breckinridge A.R.H.  Chester was 69.

In addition to his parents, Chester was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jane Jones, paternal grandparents, Chester & Nancy Asher, and maternal grandparents, Dee & Julia Osborne.

Chester leaves behind his loving & devoted wife Juanita Asher of Thousandsticks, KY; One brother Doug Asher (Peggy) of Cutshin, KY; two sisters Judy Cornett (Bill), and Sharon Asher, both of Thousandsticks, KY; Special Nephews Billy Cornett, Kenny Jones, and Dwayne Douglas Morgan;  special niece, Becky Lewis.  A host of family, friends, neighbors, and former coworkers also mourn his passing.

At Chester's request, there will be no services held.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home
