Claude Baker

Claude Baker, 98, of Scottsburg, IN., formally of Hyden, KY, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at his residence. Mr. Baker was born in Dryhill, KY on April 9, 1911, the son of the late Matt and Nannie (Dixon) Baker. He was a member of Anna C. Bush Presbyterian Church in Dryhill, KY.Claude was a World War II Veteran where he proudly served his country as Private in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his wife: Doak Keen Baker.Mr. Claude Baker leaves the following relatives surviving: One Son: Robert Claude (Sarah) Baker of Borden, IN; One daughter: Elizabeth Carol (David) Deaton of Austin, IN. One brother: Will Baker of Hyden, KY.He is also survived by 3 Grandchildren, Robert Allen (Cindy) Baker of Deputy, IN, Shane David (Nicole) Deaton of New York, NY, and Kristen Elizabeth Deaton of Chicago, Illinois and 2 Great-Grandchildren, Clayton & Kyle Baker of Deputy, IN.A host of many other relatives and friends also survive.
