It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Danny Wendell Adams, 75 who left us on the rare date of February 29, 2024, at the Red Bird Mission in Beverly, Kentucky, surrounded by family. Born to Calfee Adams and Mae Begley Adams on August 7, 1948, in Camp Creek, Kentucky, Danny's journey of 75 years was marked by dedication, hard work, and a love for nature that touched many.

Danny was a cherished member of his community, having served his country in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. Following his service, he provided for his family through various roles, from years of dedication at Ralph Howard’s Grocery, to the meticulous work  at Columbian Rope Company in Guntown, Mississippi. Danny's commitment to family led him back to Kentucky to care for his ailing parents before turning his talents to the Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center in Hazard, Kentucky, where he served as groundskeeper.

Remembered for his “green thumb,” Danny cultivated some of the finest vegetable gardens in Eastern Kentucky. His skills as a carpenter and a 'jack of all trades' allowed him to fix and build just about anything. His love of nature was evident to all; he was an avid fisherman in his younger days, with a fondness for horses, bees, and chickens, and his affinity for coffee and westerns was well-known among his loved ones.

A man of faith, Danny devoted time each day to reading the Bible, drawing great strength and comfort from its words, especially during his last two years.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Calfee and Mae Begley Adams, his beloved wife, Fern Adams, his sisters Etta Pennington and Betty Whitehead, as well as brothers Paul Muncy and Dean Adams.

Danny leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance through his four sons, Danny Kelton (Melanie), Patrick Kevin (Paula), Kylon Tate (Tammy), and Kerry Lael (Heather); his cherished grandchildren, Patricia, Patrick, Pada, James, Sarah, Ashlyn, Marcus, Conner & Chasity; and his treasured great-grandson, Michael. He is also survived by his sister, Helen Lamb of Tupelo, Mississippi; brothers, Darrell Adams of Baldwin, Mississippi, and Dill Adams of Yeaddiss, Kentucky; and his lifelong friend, Bill Brashear, who will all hold memories of Danny dear.
