Obituary

Debbie Brock of Warbranch, KY, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, May 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her cherished family. Born on November 23, 1963, in Hyden, Kentucky, a daughter of Bertha Roark Randolf and the late Theo Brock.

Debbie had a distinguished career in healthcare that spanned several decades. She was both a Med-tech and a Registered Nurse, fields in which she demonstrated dedication and expertise. For more than 25 years, she served as a med-tech at Manchester Memorial, touching many lives with her warm care and professionalism. At the time of her passing, she was employed at Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital in Hazard, KY, continuing her service to others until her physical strength no longer allowed her to do so.

Known for the warm smile she carried even in the face of personal illness, Debbie displayed kindness and resilience. Her coworkers can attest to her brightening their days by sharing candy, a small gesture,  yet shown her caring and thoughtful nature.   Her relationship with animals also reflected her nurturing spirit, as she lovingly cared for her pets with the same devotion she extended to her patients and family.

Debbie’s faith was the foundation of her life. She was strong in her beliefs and placed all her trust in God, guiding her through life, and her sickness.  Her career was not simply a job but a calling that she took very seriously.   She was always putting the needs of her patients first and exemplifying the highest standards of care.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Samantha Gamble, and her husband, Jason, of Middlesboro, KY; her mother, Bertha Roark Randolf, of Parsons, TN; her sister, Diane Blankenship, also of Parsons, TN; and a host of friends and coworkers who cherished her presence and mourn her loss deeply.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Theo Brock; her husband, Dennis Cogdill; and her brother, Herman Brock.

The funeral service to commemorate Debbie's life will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at the New Hope Community Church at Warbranch, KY.

Interment will follow in the Brock Cemetery (Stone Coal) at Mozelle, KY with family & friends serving as pallbearers.

Family and friends may gather for visitation after 6p.m. Tuesday evening, May 19th, 2026 at the church.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home
