Deloris Nantz

Deloris Nantz was born May 05, 1957 in Bell County, KY to the union of the late Frank and Polly Ann Brock Nantz.

She had been a life-long resident of Leslie County until moving to Somerset, KY just a few years ago.  Deloris began working at a young age.  She was employed by the Mary Breckinridge Hospital, where she worked as the supervisor of the housekeeping department.  She devoted more than 25 years of service to the hospital before becoming disabled.

Deloris was a determined person; If she had an idea or a task at hand, she went with it and would see it through to the end.  She was talented in all that she did.  She was always crafty, she could make anything and enjoyed decorating.  She especially enjoyed decorating for Christmas.  Deloris was also an accomplished seamstress; she loved to sew and work with many different materials.  She was a very giving person, lending a helping hand in any way she could.   When she wasn’t working or taking on a task, Deloris enjoyed spending time with her family and going to the beach.  Above all, Deloris was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Deloris departed this walk on Saturday, October 08, 2022 in Somerset, Kentucky at the age of 65.

In addition to her parents, Deloris was preceded in death by one beloved friend, Barbara Davis.

Deloris leaves surviving her loving husband, Don Wooton of Hyden, KY, beloved daughters, Tracy Wooton (David Smith) of Hyden, KY, Theresa Hensley (Larry) of Somerset, KY and Beth Venable (Seth) of Corbin, KY.   Other survivors include, one sister, Brenda Estridge of Bledsoe, KY, five cherished grandchildren, Alaylah Roberts, Jessalyn Roberts, Grayson Hensley, Draydon Smith, and Silas Venable.  A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 1p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating.

Interment will follow in the Nantz Cemetery at Mozelle, KY

The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until 1p.m. Thursday at the funeral home chapel.
