Easter Lewis

Easter Couch Lewis was born December 28, 1950 in Hyden, Kentucky to the union of the late Johnny Couch and the late Martha Sizemore Couch Bray.  She had been a life-long resident of Hyden, KY until she moved to London and went to work for Hearthside Foods.   In her former years, Easter worked in the restaurant industry.   

Living her life for the Lord, Easter was a devout Christian and was a devoted member of the Lily Holiness Church at Lily, Kentucky. Her faith was unwavering and evident in the way she lived her life.   

Aside from God and church, Easter’s deepest love was for her family.  She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, church member and friend.  She had a profound love for her grandson, Ty. Together, along with her great-nephew Hayden, they would often cheer on the Kentucky Wildcats.    Reed Sheppard was her favorite player!

While Easter did enjoy family, family gatherings and grilling with Ty, she also enjoyed walking and watching her favorite soap operas.   

On Thursday, April 18, 2024, Easter departed this life to make Heaven her home.  She was surrounded by her loving family.  Easter was 73 years old.

In addition to her beloved parents, Easter was preceded in death by three cherished siblings Gillie Bucker Couch, Zuba Couch Drury and Hazel Jones.

Left behind to cherish Easter’s memory are her two children, Angela Jones & husband Jim of Hyden, KY and Mearl Sharp of Keavy, KY; one brother Jerry Couch & wife Shirley of Hyden, KY, three sisters Annie Sizemore of Hyden, KY, Linda Colleen Collins & husband Charles of London, KY and Debbie Boggs & husband Glenn of Smilax, KY;  one very special grandson Tyler Dixon & Emily; a special nephew Terry Hoskins & wife Jennifer.  A host of other treasured family and friends also survive her passing. 

The funeral service for Easter Lewis will be held at 2p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at the Couch’s Fork Church of God with Ryan Osborne, Adam Woods and Joey Burns officiating.

Interment will follow the services at the Couch’s Fork Cemetery at (Hal Rogers Parkway) -Thousandsticks, KY with Ricky Sizemore, Johnny Couch, Terry Hoskins, Bucker Sizemore, Wendell Gay, Jay Fugate, Junior Nesbitt and Willie Joe Hollin serving as pallbearers.  Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Couch, Hayden Gay, Glenn Boggs and Charles Collins. 

Family and friends may gather for visitation at the Couch’s Fork Church of God from 6p.m. until 10p.m. – Monday evening, April 22, 2024.
