Obituary for Edna WatersEdna S. Waters, 90, of Panama City, Florida, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012.She was born the daughter of John Sizemore and Maggie Sizemore on April 3, 1922 in Roark, Kentucky.Mrs. Waters served in the Women's Army Corp during World War II. She was member of the American Legion for 62 years, the American Legion Auxiliary for 60 years. She was the first female American Legion County Commander in the State of Illinois, a lifelong Republican Party Activist serving as Voters' Registrar and Poll Watcher. She assisted in numerous campaigns on County and State levels and was very active in civic affairs.Mrs. Waters is preceded in death by her parents, and her loving husband, John D. Waters.She is survived by her children, John "Jay" W. Waters and his wife, Maribelle, Judson D. Waters and his wife, Bonnie and Colleen Hodges; six grandchildren, Letty Driscoll and her husband, David, Lauren Waters, Katie Jensen and her husband, Jeff, Ashley Waters, Jackson Waters and April Hodges; two great-grandchildren, Kira and Cole Driscoll.Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 10:00-12:00 P.M.
