Emily Baker

Ms. Emily Baker was born January 28, 1938 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late Jack Lewis and the late Bessie Kilburn Lewis. Emily departed this life on Friday, May 01, 2012 at the Mary Breckinridge ARH in Hyden, KY. She was 74 years, 03 months and 06 days of age and was residing at 49 Beatty Branch Road, Smilax, KY at the time of her death. She was a life long resident of Leslie County, KY and was a homemaker. Emily enjoyed working in the yard, gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother.Emily is preceded in death by : her parents; her husband: Eli Baker; One daughter: Alice Gross; Three brothers: Lincoln, Eugene and Richard Lewis; One sister: Jettie Lewis; Ms. Emily Baker leaves the following relatives surviving: 4 sons: Duck Baker and wife, Rose of Cutshin, Charles Ray Baker and wife Kathleen of Wooton, Morgan Gross, Jr. of Texas and Greg Wells of Roark. One step-son: Haze Baker and wife, Kathy of Wooton; 6 daughters: Judy Smith and husband, Bud, Diane Wooton and husband, Allen and Kay Henson, all of Cutshin; Glenda Shepherd of Wooton, Sue Sawyers and husband, Jerry of Wooton and Debbie Pugh and husband, Ben of Essie, KY. 5 brothers: Bill Lewis of Cutshin, Felix Lewis and wife, Elva of Cutshin, Martin Lewis and wife, Katie of Yeaddiss, Jerry Lewis and wife, Jackie and Ralph Lewis and wife, Judy, both of Smilax; 1 Sister: Mint Gross of Hazard; Pet companion: "Roxie"; 13 beloved grandchildren: Tony Baker, Chad Baker, David Shepherd, Matthew Lawson, Emily Cornett, Becky Baker, Nikki Baker, Tiffany Baker, Sabrina Baker, Jessica Coots, Ricky Wayne Turner, Michael Day and Brandy Smith; 20 Great-grandchildren and a host of other family & friends also survive.
