Eugene Hoskins, affectionately known as Gene to family and friends was born June 04, 1935 in Hoskinston, KY, a son of the late Dewey and Onie Morgan Hoskins.
Gene was a veteran of the United States Airforce. He served honorably for twenty years of service in England, Germany, and Alaska; as well as assignments in Little Rock AR, Rapid City, SD, and Enid, OK.
After Gene's dedicated service to the Country, Gene returned to Leslie County where he helped to established Hoskins T.V. and Radio Shack. He ran this business for over twenty years, along side of his brother, Bob.
Gene was an avid golfer. He could be found playing "Cow Pasture Pool" on most sunny days.
He departed this life on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the age of 89.
He was preceded in death by his father Dewey Hoskins (Rose Lee Morgan Hoskins), his mother Onie Morgan Hoskins, one daughter, Trudie K. Ross, one sister Daphne Hoskins, three brothers Arthur "Peanut" Hoskins, David "Little" Hoskins and Robert "Bob" Hoskins.
Gene leaves surviving One son Michael G. Hemming & Dawanna of Brookville, OH, one daughter Penny D. Moneypenny & Tom of Little Rock, AR. Other survivors include one sister-in-law Freda Hoskins of London, KY, his cherished grandchildren Jeremy Apel of Little Rock, AR, Wes Smith & Megan of Trot, OH, Benjamin Hemming of Youngstown, OH, Dustin Kiedis of Enid, OK, and Misty Brinker & Justin of Enid, OK. HIs cherished great grandchildren Maris, Wren, Caitlyn, Alyssa, and Emma. His treasured great-great grandchildren Penelope and Aiyana. A host of beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
The funeral service will be held at 1p.m. Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Josh Holland, James Bowling, Jr. and Keith Bowling officiating.
Interment will follow at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Southeast in Hyden, KY with full military honors by Leslie County D.A.V. Chapter #133.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 11a.m. until the service hour, Tuesday at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
Expressions of Sympathy may take place in the form of donations to the Leslie County D.A.V. Chapter # 133
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
