Eveline Smith, 69, of Essie, Kentucky died Sunday at Hazard ARH Medical Center. She was born September 14, 1951 at Asher, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Damon & Lillian Howard Napier. Eveline had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, and by occupation she was retired from Mary Breckinridge Hospital, where she worked in the Dietary Department. She worked faithfully for 23 years until retiring in 2008. She was a member of the Grassy Branch Pentecostal Church at Essie, KY and was affiliated with the Roark Pentecostal Holiness Church. She enjoyed traveling and above all, spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Eveline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Troy Smith; two children, Cloann and Tina Smith; two brothers, Cartis Lee Napier and Cleopus Napier; three sisters, Pauline Collins, Janet Barrett, and Bonnie Bowling.
Survivors include, three sons, Dennis (Lillian) Smith of Brown Co., IN, David Smith of Greenwood, IN and Chris Smith (Crystal) of Stinnett, KY; one Brother, Emmitt Napier of Essie, KY; seven grandchildren, Brooke Nicole Smith, Lauren Renae Smith, Kyndall Smith, Taylor Smith, Isaiah Smith, Tyler (Hollie) Smith and Harper Smith; four great-grandchildren, Zaya Smith, Nova Smith, Damon Michael Smith and Waylon Jackson Smith. A host of other family and friends survive.
FUNERAL: 2P.M. – WEDNESDAY AT WOLFE & SONS FUNERAL HOME WITH PATRICK MORGAN OFFICIATING. INTERMENT WILL FOLLOW IN THE SMITH CEMETERY – ESSIE, KY. THE FAMILLY WILL RECEIVE FRIENDS FOR VISITATION FROM 11:00 – 2:00 ON WEDNESDAY AT THE FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL.
