Evelyn Bowling

Evelyn Fouts Bowling was born May 26, 1952, in Hyden, KY, the youngest child of the late Jim and Mavis Cornett Fouts. Evelyn spent her younger years in Leslie County. She married Mike Bowling on December 13, 2013, and they made Tyner their home. 

Being a beloved homemaker, Evelyn was meticulous in all that she did. She took great pride in keeping her home well-kept and her property well groomed. She was a seasoned cook and enjoyed doing so for her family and friends.

As well as a homemaker, she was also a seasoned baker. She was the former owner of the Annville Bakery in Annville, KY until her health would not allow her to do so. She took delight in every cake and pastry she would produce. 

Evelyn was a devout Christian and loved the Lord with all her might and strength. She had a strong prayer life and stood steadfast in her faith. Through her faith, her light shined brightly through love and perseverance. Even on her weak days, her love was still strong. Her family, especially her grandchildren, were the greatest joy of her life.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. 

Evelyn passed away on Saturday, November 02, 2024, at the St. Joseph Hospital in London, KY at the age of 72.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her late husband and father of her children Donald Wayne Cornett, one beloved son Shawn Cornett, three brothers Harold Dean Fouts, Johnny Fouts, and Willie Fouts. As well as four sisters, Margaret Bailey, Hazel Clark, Marie Adams, and Erma Day; one infant sister Hosea Jean Fouts.

Evelyn leaves behind her loving & devoted husband Mike Bowling of Tyner, KY, one son Jody Cornett (Kellie) of McKee, KY and one step son Sean Bowling of Crossville, TN; three cherished grandchildren Chloe Cornett, Brooklyn Cornett, and Raelynn Cornett; her special nephews Wade Baliey of Wooton, KY and Darrell Fouts of Hyden, KY; her special niece Kathy Baker (Haze) of Wooton, KY. A host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends also survive her passing. 

The funeral service to commemorate Evelyn's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 7th, 2024 at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, KY with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating.

Interment will follow at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ Cemetery with Kyle Fouts, Jimmy Darrell Fouts, Rodney Fouts, Jesse Fouts, Darrell Fouts and Sean Bowling serving as pallbearers.

Friends and family may gather for visitation from 6:00p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the church.
