Forrest D. Scott, 57, of Stinnett, KY, was born December 11, 1968, in Miami, Florida to the late Harold & Recie Oxendine Scott.  Forrest passed away peacefully on Monday, July 20, 2026, in Pikeville, Kentucky. Forrest’s life was a testament to kindness, hard work, and unwavering support for his loved ones and community.

Forrest was known not only for his technical expertise in the HVAC field but also for the pride he took in every project. He built a reputation among locals as the person to trust for accurate and quality work. Throughout his career, colleagues and clients alike found him reliable and meticulous, earning him genuine respect within his field.

Beyond work, Forrest’s personality was a source of joy for those who knew him. His kind nature, quick wit, and comical sense of humor brought laughter to those around him.  Friends and family could always rely on him; he was the first to lend a helping hand, never hesitating to be there at a moment’s notice.

Forrest was also known for his love as a Miami Dolphins fan, proudly following his team through every season. When not cheering on his favorite team, he could often be found enjoying the outdoors taking a fishing trip, something he really enjoyed.

His greatest accomplishment, and what he took the most pride in, was his tireless work ethic that brought him much satisfaction.

He is remembered by those he leaves behind: his sister, Claudia Jordan of Arvada CO; his brother, Chester Southerland of NC; his long-time significant other, Jackie Collett; his beloved granddaughter, Kinsley; his nieces Kristen Yarbrough, Kara Yarbrough, and Amanda Jordan; and his nephew, Michael McElven.

Forrest was preceded in death by: his father, Harold Scott; his mother, Recie Scott; his son, Forrest H. Scott; his brother, Randy Oxendine; and his sister, Jeannie Yarbrough.
