Obituary

Harrison Kilburn, Jr., life-long resident of Leslie County, born November 02, 1962 to the union of the late Harrison Kilburn and the late Zella Woods Kilburn.

A man respected for his hard work and grit, Harrison took pride in providing for his family.  He worked for more than 15 years as a coal miner at Blue Diamond Coal Company and 5 years at the Begley Saw Mill before his retirement.  He did not like to stay idle for very long, after his retirement he begin mowing yards.  A true testament to his hard work ethic.

A true outdoorsman, Harrison loved all things nature, gardening, and hunting.  He was an avid hunter, especially deer, squirrel, and turkey hunting brought him the most joy.  When he wasn't in the woods hunting, tending to his garden, or mowing grass, Harrison could be found on his front porch enjoying his morning coffee and appreciating the nature around him.   He also enjoyed watching westerns and playing with his dog, "Tiny".

Harrison was a very sociable person; he enjoyed talking with people and spending time with his family and friends.  With his outgoing personality came wit, and a great sense of humor.  Nothing thrilled him more than pulling a light hearted prank or joke on others.  He was a seasoned cook, and was praised by his family for the delicious food he prepared.
