Hazel B. Collett

Hazel B. Collett of Roark, KY was born July 15, 1930 at Essie, KY to the union of the late Chester and Chelsie Collett Barrett. She departed this life on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the Mary Breckinridge ARH in Hyden, KY at the age of 82 years. She was a homemaker and a life long resident of Leslie County. She was a member of the Bowen's Creek United Baptist Church at Essie, KY. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and working with flowers. She is preceded in death by her parents;Husband: Carl Collett, Sr.; 1-daughter: Linda Partin; 1- brother: McKinley Barrett and 3 grandchildren. Hazel leaves surviving the following relatives: 6-sons: John Collett (Ethel) of Hazard, KY, Glenn Collett (Marilyn) of Knox Co, Roscoe Collett (Helen) of Roark, KY, Gary Lee Collett of Roark, KY, Carlos Collett (Penny) of Essie, KY and Lynn Collett of Bear Branch, KY; 2 daughters: Chelsie Shepherd of Goose Rock, KY and Brenda Collett of Bear Branch, KY; 7-brothers: Elmer Barrett of Knox Co., Caleb Barrett of Essie, KY, James J.S. Barrett of London, KY, Alger Barrett of Barbourville, KY, Paul Barrett of Knox Co., Chester "Junior" Barrett (Bonnie) of Stinnett, KY and Lynn Barrett (Wilma) of Stinnett, KY; 25 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral Services for Hazel Collett will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, April 21, 2013 at the Bowens Creek United Baptist Church with Taylor Adams, and James Bowling, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Collett Cemetery at Essie, Kentucky. The family will receive friends at the church after 6:00 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 until the funeral hour on Sunday.
