Henry Hoskins, born September 07, 1941 in Leslie County to the union of the late Spencer and Snovia Stidham Hoskins. Henry had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and was residing at Wooton, KY.
Henry was a skilled auto repair mechanic and a former coal miner. Whatever he did, it was with his whole heart. You could say Henry was a "Jack of all trades". He liked to work with his hands and enjoyed repairing things.
An avid outdoorsman, whose loved for squirrel hunting and fishing was evident. Although he enjoyed the outdoors, he also took pride in keeping all of the grass well manicured by weed eating around his property.
Henry had a great sense of humor and was a prankster; he always enjoyed a good laugh. He was upfront in his dealings and rather blunt with his expressions. You never had to guess what he was thinking or where you stood with him.
As a talented musician, Henry enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo. He especially loved bluegrass music. Aside from his other hobbies, there was nothing better to Henry that watching westerns, many of which he had seen numerous times.
Above all, Henry cherished his family, and the time spent with them. He worked hard to ensure their wellbeing and that all of their needs were met.
On Sunday, October 13, 2024, Henry passed away at the age of 83.
In addition to his parents, Henry was preceded in death by brothers Omatoe Hoskins and Huey Hoskins; two half brothers Willie Hoskins and Shade Hoskins; two sisters Rose Hoskins, Goldie Sizemore and Sally Simpson; one half sister Gracie Stidham.
Left behind to mourn his passing is his loving & devoted wife to whom he wed on June 03, 1967, Betty Baker Hoskins of Wooton, KY, two beloved daughters Mary Ellen Hoskins and Lisa Ann Burton, both of Wooton, KY. His three cherished grandchildren Jessica Hutson, Mark Anthony Shepherd II, and Andrew Burton. One cherished great-grandchild Opie Allan Anthony Hutson. A host of other family and friends also survive his passing.
The funeral service to commemorate Henry's life will be held at 1p.m. - Wednesday, October 16, 2024 at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Russell Baker officiating.
Interment will follow at the Sam's Cemetery at Wooton, KY with Andrew Cornett, Lenny Hutson, David Baker, Russell Baker, Jr., Shannon Morgan, Justin Sams and Van Burton serving as pallbearers.
Friends and family may gather for visitation from 11a.m. - 1p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home chapel.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
