Ida Pennington

Ida Pennington, age 75 of Smilax, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 06, 2014 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Ida was born in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late Johnny and Lucy Estep Clark. She was a homemaker and a life long resident of Leslie County. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, traveling with her husband, Burchell and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Ida is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Burchell Pennington; Ida leaves surviving the following relatives: 2 - sons: Burchell Pennington, Jr. and Harold Pennington, both of Smilax, KY; 2 - daughters: Christine Colwell (Tony) of Busy, KY and Jackie Lewis (Jerry) of Smilax, KY; 1 - brother: Lewis Clark of Wooton, KY and Janie Vernon of Smilax, KY; 6 - grandchildren, 11 - great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted for Ida Pennington at 12:00 Noon, Sunday, March 09, 2014 at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, KY with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Ida will be laid to rest in the Lewis Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY. The Pennington Family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M., Saturday at the church.
