James Sizemore

James Sizemore, 85, of Corbin, KY, passed away on June 06, 2026, at University of KY Hospital in Lexington, KY. He was born on August 20, 1940, to the union of the late Bige and Alice Bowling Sizemore.

A devoted family man, James was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. His family was his greatest joy, followed closely by his passion for the outdoors. James also enjoyed motorcycles and working on cars in his free time.

James is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Betty Sizemore of Corbin, KY; two daughters, Rhonda Donovan of Independence, KY and Margaret Covey (Rick) of Ft. Thomas, KY; one sister, Jessie Snyder of Connersville, IN; four grandchildren, Billy Donovan, Austin Donovan, John Wald, and Bryanna Hayes; and five great-grandchildren, Hailey Sowder, McKensi Ward, Jessa Guy, Bella Reynolds, and Elijah Hayes. He also leaves behind a host of friends and family who will remember him fondly.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Bige and Alice Bowling Sizemore; and seven sisters, Eva Smallwood, Ora Bell, Martha Bray, Daisy Estep, Hallie Hensley, Dorothy Riley, and Easter Hensley. 

The funeral service to commemorate the life of James Sizemore will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2026, at Lily Holiness Church in Lily, KY with Ryan Osborne officiating.

Friends and family may gather for visitation at 6p.m. Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Lily Holiness Church in Lily, KY.

Interment will follow the services at the Couch’s Fork Cemetery at Thousandsticks, KY with Rick Covey, Billy Donovan, Austin Donovan, Harold Conley, and John Wald serving as pallbearers.
