Jimmy Lynn Adams

Yeaddiss, Kentucky

Jimmy Lynn Adams (of Yeaddiss, KY) was born in Leslie County on September 15, 1965.  He was the son of the late Jimmie and Judy Coots Adams.

Jimmy had been a life-long resident of Leslie County, living in the Yeaddiss community for the most of his life.  Jimmy was a graduate of Leslie County High School, where played football.  His jersey number was # 69 and played in the position of defensive tackle.  

By occupation, Jimmy was a coal miner in the coal industry.   He worked for 18 years as a shuttle driver in the deep mines.  

After high school, Jimmy Lynn continued to keep a keen interest in sports.  He was an avid football fan, and the Cowboys were his team.  He was also an avid wrestling fan; he and his son JR watched many wrestling matches together throughout their lives. 

 In addition to football and wrestling, Jimmy had many other hobbies that kept him occupied in his spare time.  He enjoyed fishing, skiing, and spending time outdoors.  Jimmy was also a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding four-wheelers as well. 

Above all, Jimmy Lynn cherished the time with his family and friends.  He was the family “Superman”!

Jimmy departed this walk of life on March 13, 2024 at his home surrounded by his beloved family.  Jimmy was 58 years old.

Other than his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by two infant brothers James Harold Adams and Benjamin Edward Adams.  His paternal grandparents Benjamin and Susan “Big Mommy” Adams, and his maternal grandparents Hurlen and Cora Coots.  He was also preceded in death by his beloved uncle Mark David Coots and his father-in-law Sannon Middleton.

Survivors include his loving & devoted wife, Beth Middleton Adams of Yeaddiss, KY; one son JR Adams (Heather “Boss”, who was very special to Jimmy) of Yeaddiss, KY;  One daughter Amanda Coghill (Ray) of Hazard, KY; one step-son Dustin "Dooter" Lewis of Yeaddiss, KY; two brothers Tommy Darrell Adams (Carol) and Hurlen Adams (Amanda), both of Yeaddiss, KY; Nine cherished grandchildren Alex, Millie, Lyndsey, Jimma, RIP, Chloe, Jaxxon, Zoey and Zane;  his niece and nephew Karlee Adams and Benjamin Adams "PI".  A special sister-in-law Anita McFarland and his beloved cousins who he held dear Hurlin Smith, Ruth Elenes, Eyvonne Coots and Donna Wells.  A multitude of friends and other relatives also survive his passing.  

The funeral for Jimmy Lynn Adams will be held at 2p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ at Yeaddiss, KY with Tommy Fields and Don Kilburn officiating.

Interment will follow the services at the Adams Family Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY with JR Adams, Hurlen Adams, Tommy Adams, Ray Coghill, Jay Clark and Dustin Lewis serving as pallbearers. 

Friends and family may gather for visitation at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home from 5p.m. until 9p.m. Saturday evening.  

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
