John J.B."" Whitehead

Mr. John William "J.B." Whitehead, age 60 of Big Creek, KY, passed away on July 24, 2014 at the Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center. He was born March 06, 1954 in Harlan, KY to the union of the late Carson and Della Muncy Whitehead. By occupation, J.B. was a retired coal miner and logger. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by, one sister: Wanda Sue Collett and one niece Penny Collett. J.B. leaves surviving, three daughters: Robin Baker of London, KY, Amanda Sue Ledford (Dexter Napier) of Red Bird, KY, and Chasity Collett of Harlan, KY; one brother: Doug Whitehead (Bobbie) of Mozelle, KY; one sister: Linda Adams (Doug) of Hyden, KY; special friend: Earl Smith of Red Bird, KY; Seven cherished grandchildren: Taylor & Presley Baker, Destiny Nicole Lewis, Christian Cody Lewis, Robyn Amber Brock, Johnathon Shane Ledford, and Devin Luke Ledford. A special friend who was like a brother, Earl Smith. A host of other family and friends also survive. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday August 8th, 2014 at the Lower Beechfork United Methodist Church with Rev. Dwayne Yost, and Rev. Cleve Bowling officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the service time.
