Karen Sheryl Hensley

Mrs. Karen Sheryl Hensley, age 65 of Lonesome Mountain Lane, Helton, Kentucky, departed this walk of life surrounded by her family on Friday, April 24, 2015 at her residence. She was born May 25, 1950 in Cook County, IL to the union of the late Kenneth Kirkland and the late Ruby Isabelle Block. Karen had been a resident of Leslie County since the age of 16. Karen was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a dedicated Christian whom loved serving Lord. She had been a faithful member of the Dry Fork Holiness Church for the past 18 years. Karen enjoyed going to church, reading her Bible, cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren. Other than her parents, Karen is preceded in death by: two brothers: David James Kirkland and Joseph Block.

Karen is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Wilkie Hensley, Sr.; two sons: Wilkie Hensley, Jr. of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Jake Roy Hensley (Jamie) of Helton, KY; two daughters: Margie Hobbs (Darrell) of Pineville, KY, and Debbie Nolan (Bill) of Helton, KY; one brother: Kenneth Kirkland of Rockport, IL; five sisters: Judy Leathers, Kathy French, Debbie Stepiens, Patti Block, and Lida Vieira; eight grandchildren: Karen, Judy, Jimmy, Samantha, Kathy, Jacob, Dusty, and Kelly; nine great-grandchildren: Ryin, Jessica, Mariah, Conner, Aiden, Kiley, Kenzie, Penelope, and Kimberly. A host of other cherished family, church family, and friends survive her passing.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the Dry Fork Holiness Church at Helton, KY with Cammie Bo Caldwell and Roscoe Asher officiating. Burial will follow in the Hensley Family Cemetery at Helton, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation after 6:00 P.M. Saturday evening at the church.
