Kenneth Collett, Sr.

Dry Ridge, Kentucky (Formerly of Leslie County)

Kenneth Collett, Sr. was born March 5, 1935 in Leslie Co., Kentucky and passed away Sept. 1, 2021 in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky at the age of 86.  He was the son of the late Elmer and Delora Mosley Collett.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife: Malinda Collett in 2015; and three sisters: Pauline Collett, Edith Collett and Susie Holland; and one brother: Freddie Joe Collett.

Ken was a retired auto worker with General Motors and was a member of the Dry Ridge Baptist Church.  He loved the outdoors including activities from boating and skiing to hunting and fishing.

On Sept. 16, 2016 he was united in marriage to Louella Ritchie Collett.  In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by two sons: Ken Collett, Jr. of Latonia and Mitchell (Tonda) Collett of Florence; four brothers: Earl (Mary) Collett of Leslie Co., John (Carolyn) Collett of London, Doyle Collett, and Marcus (Emily) Collett, both of Leslie Co.; four sisters: Joyce (Eugene) Hunley of Leslie Co, Geraldine (Mason) Collett of Leslie Co., Fern Maxwell of Jacksboro and Rosetta (Steve) Sizemore of Barbourville; five grandchildren: Christopher Collett, Matthew Collett, Michael Collett, Randi Collett and Maria Mains; and 14 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2021 at Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home, Dry Ridge.  Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home.  Burial will be in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.  Memorial donations are suggested to the Shriners Hospital.
