March 28, 1965 — December 19, 2023

Kenneth Ray "Kenny" Jones, known to his loved ones as Kenny, age 58, passed away on December 19, 2023, at the Hazard Appalachian Regional Medical Center in Hazard, KY. He was born on March 28, 1965, in Hyden, KY. Kenny was living at Thousandsticks, KY at the time of his death.

Kenny dedicated his life to hard work and craftsmanship. He began his career as a carpenter and later extended his skills to work as a mechanic specializing in small engine repair. Alongside his brother Paul, he fixed small engines.   Despite Paul's passing, Kenny continued this work until his final moments.

Beyond his work, Kenny will also be remembered for his warm and affectionate personality. He had a special way of connecting with others and approached life with a lighthearted spirit. He often referred to all of his nieces and nephews as his "Pets," creating unforgettable memories cherished by the entire family.

In addition to his dedication to work and family, Kenny enjoyed spending time pursuing some of his favorite hobbies. He enjoyed fishing, finding peace near the water's edge while waiting for the catch of the day. Squirrel hunting was another activity that brought him great joy along side his brothers, Paul, Roy and Sherman.  Many mornings they would start the day with a big breakfast before going out in the woods.

Kenny was preceded in death by his beloved parents Willie and Lucy Osborne Jones; brothers Kermit, Felix, Roy, and Paul Jones; and sister Clara Wilma Jones Chandler.

He leaves behind a loving son, Willie "Daniel" Jones (Valerie) of Beattyville, KY. His memory will also be cherished by one surviving brother Sherman Jones (Sally) of Somerset, KY; five sisters Brenda Jones of Thousandsticks, KY; Bessie Collins & Robert of Hyden, KY; Molly Holland (Homer) of London, KY; Christine Gregory (Jim Bob) of London, KY; and Sheila Day (James) of Smilax, KY. Kenny's special caregiver and sister-in-law: Anna Carol Jones of Thousandsticks, KY played an invaluable role in his life. Additionally, he is survived by brother-in-law Abner "Red" Chandler of Thousandsticks, KY; the mother of his son Barbara; and a host of other relatives and friends.
