Lewis Shepherd

Lewis Shepherd, 70, of Roark, Ky departed this walk of life on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Manchester, Ky. Lewis was born January 18, 1956, to the union of the late Donley and Helen Chappell Shepherd.

Lewis worked as a gunsmith, carpenter, and was a go-to handyman. Known as a jokester who loved a good laugh, his favorite days were spent outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening, and riding horses. More than anything, Lewis treasured the time he spent with his family and his dogs.

In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by his daughter Betty Smith Morgan.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Elaine Shepherd of Roark, Ky; one brother, Donald Shepherd (Gloria) of Owensboro, Ky; one sister, Betty Shepherd of Roark, Ky; six grandchildren, Tessa Morgan, Josh Davidson, Andrew Barrett, Autumn Bowling, Courtney Coots (Ivan), and Charley Couch; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Barrett; two special cousins, Sheldon Shepherd and John Wayne Simpson; nephews, Ben Shepherd and Matt Shepherd; niece, Holly Shepherd; special friends Rodney Morgan and Robbie Horton; A host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive his passing.

The funeral service to commemorate the life of Lewis Shepherd will be held at 1:30p.m. Sunday, September 27, 2026, at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Jimmy Ward and Taylor Adams officiating. The obituary will be read by Robbie Horton.

Interment will follow in the Lewis Shepherd Cemetery at Roark, Ky with Josh Davidson, Andrew Barrett, Donald Shepherd, Ben Shepherd, Matt Shepherd, and Rodney Morgan serving as pallbearers.

Friends and family may gather for visitation from 6p.m. until 9p.m. at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 26, 2026.
