Logan Adams

Mr. Logan Adams, born April 17, 1919 in Leslie County, KY to the union of the late Monroe and Carrie Adams. He passed away Sunday, May 30, 2010 at the Mary Brekinridge Hospital in Hyden, KY. He was 91 years, 1 month and 13 days of age. He was residing at 4577 Cutshin Road, Smilax, KY at the time of his passing. Logan was a life long resident of Leslie County. He was a united states army veteran, having proudly served in World War II as rifleman. He was a Kentucky Colonel and by occupation he was a retired school teacher from the Leslie County board of education and business owner. Logan was a community leader and was instrumental in starting local organizations. He was a founding member of the Cutshin Volunteer Fire Department and the Cutshin Fish and Game Club. Logan was a former school board member, having served on the Leslie County school board for 12 years. He served on the Kentucky River Mental Health Board of Directors for 6 years. He was also a member of the Masonic Order, lodge 905. Logan is preceded in death by his parents; One brother: Homer Adams; four sisters: Katie, Stella, Nellie and Effie. One great grandson: Hunter Hensley. Mr. Logan Adams leaves the following relatives surviving: His loving and devoted wife: Rose Adams of Smilax, KY; Three sons: Logan Adams, Jr. of Lexington, Ky; James Douglas Adams of Smilax, KY and John Wayne Adams of Jeff, KY; One Daughter: Mary N. Kadish of Smilax, KY; One brother Raleigh Adams; Seven grandchildren: Adrienne Lewis, April Hensley, Stephanie Kadish, Samantha Jo Adams, Cassie & Carrie Adams and Sarah Kadish. Six great grandchildren: Alister, Nick, Victoria, Jonathan, Katy and Kylie. A host of many other relatives and friends also survive.
