Loretta Lewis (née Fields), age 59, of Laurel County, Kentucky, passed peacefully at her home on September 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on March 21, 1966, to the late Bentley and Gertrude Fields.
Loretta was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a loving mother to her son, Brandon Cornett (wife Monica, children Haden and Carson), and her daughter, Kayla Lewis (engaged to Blake Flinchum, children Jaden Lewis, Drakeson Paul, and Ariel Smith). She is also survived by her father Bentley Fields, her siblings: Bill Fields of Stinnett, KY and Geraldine Fields of Hyden, KY; Wayne Fields (wife Angel) Mark Fields, and Tammy Fields of Jamestown, OH. Loretta is also remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Known affectionately as Nana, Loretta cherished her grandchildren above all else. She was a Christian woman who lived her faith daily through kindness and love. Her favorite pastimes included spending time outdoors, fishing, sitting in the sun with a cup of coffee, and enjoying time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Gertrude Fields, and her grandparents, Charlie and Georgia Whitehead. Special acknowledgement is given to Curtis Lewis (former husband, Corbin, KY) and Fern Morgan (cousin, London, KY), who held important places in her life.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Cornett, Haden Cornett, Jaden Lewis, Curtis Lewis, Shawn Hoskins, Bill Fields, Bill Morgan, Luke Joseph, and Blake Flinchum.
Funeral services will be held at Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. with funeral services following Friday, September 26, 2025 at 1 p.m. . Preacher John Pugh will officiate.
