Lula Salyers age 75 of 794 Hollins Fork Road, Bear Branch, KY, passed away Sunday, December 06, 2009 at Mary Breckinridge Hospital in Hyden. Born Friday, May 04, 1934 in Leslie County KY, She was born to the union of Hershel Woods and Ollie Helton Woods. She was a life long resident Leslie County. She was a loving mother and homemaker. She was of the holiness faith and enjoyed Quilting and growing flowers. She is preceded in death by her parents; One Son: E.C, Salyers; Three brother in laws: Jerry Miller, Raymond Salyers and Billy Bentley. Mrs. Lula Salyers leaves the following surviving: Her loving and devoted husband: Roscoe Salyers of Bear Branch, KY; One son: Joe Salyers and Marilyn of Bear Branch, KY. One Daughter: Patricia Harris and William, Jr. of Middlesboro, KY. One brother: Hershel Woods, Jr. of Bear Branch, KY. Eight Sisters: Emma Miller of Hindman, KY, Sadie Smith and Freddie, Leda Salyers, Iva Collins and Caleb, Jean Lawson and Gabby, Viney Bentley and Janice Bowling and Dallas all of Bear Branch, KY. and Helen Medlin and Husband Jimmy of GA. Two Grandchildren: Joey Salyers and Nikki; Sabrina Matthews and Chris. Three Great Grandchildren: Kobe Ross E.C. Salyers, William Gavin Matthews and Laryssa Keann Matthews. A host of many other relatives and friends survive.
