Mrs. Marlene Morgan Napier of Daniels Branch Road, Essie, Kentucky departed this walk of life on May 24, 2013 at the Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, TN. She was 79 years, 07 months and 13 days of age at the time of her passing. She was born October 11, 1933 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late Robert and Sally Morgan. Marlene was a homemaker and a member of the Bowen's Creek United Baptist Church at Essie, KY. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and flowers. Marlene is preceded in death by the following relatives: parents: Robert and Sally Morgan; 1 brother: Thomas A. Morgan; 2 sisters: Eunice Collett and Zilpha Baker; 1 grandchild: Angie Caldwell. Mrs. Marlene Morgan Napier leaves surviving the following relatives: Her loving and devoted husband: Curtis Napier of Essie, KY and to their union, 2 loving daughters: Mary Carol Bailey (Calvin) of Essie, KY and Sharon Gail Helton (Ernest Collett); 4 brothers: Rubble Morgan (Wanda) of Stinnett, KY, James C. Morgan of Stinnett, KY, Larry Morgan (Loretta) of Hyden, KY and Roger Wade Morgan (Betty) of Stinnett, KY; 7 sisters: Polly Howard (Tolman) of Stinnett, KY, Annette Smith (Elbert) of London, KY, Velma Bowling of Stinnett, KY, Violet Smith (Lonnie) of Roark, KY, Merinda Garrison (Ronald) of Stinnett, KY, Linda Roberts (Floyd, Jr.) of Dayton, OH and Lois Roberts (Joey) of Stinnett, KY; 6 grandchildren: Dena Collett, Jessica Caldwell, Trena Caldwell, Christopher Helton, Shane Helton and Anjelica Collett; 6 great-grandchildren: Byron Collett, Dylan Barrett, Aiden Brock, Kristen Helton, Shae Helton and Tyler Helton; A Host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive her passing. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. - Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from the Stinnett Pentecostal Church at Stinnett, KY with James Bowling, Jr. and Roger Wolfe officiating. Burial will follow in the Napier Cemetery at Essie, KY. The following will serve as pallbearers: Shane Helton, Chris Helton, Byron Collett, Calvin Bailey, Marvin Morgan and Chester Arnett. The Napier family will receive friends for visitation after 6:00 P.M. - Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at the Stinnett Pentecostal Church.
