Mr. Billy J. Shepherd

Billy J. Shepherd, born March 1, 1943, in Cumberland, Kentucky to the union of the late Calloway Shepherd and the late Maggie Halcomb. He departed this life on Thursday, June 24, 2010 at the ARH Medical Center in Hazard, KY. He was 67 years, 3 months and 23 days of age at the time of his passing. He was a life long resident of Leslie County, with the exception of a short residence in Ohio. Bill enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, hunting and gardening. He also loved going to church and building bird houses. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Shepherd; two brothers: Jack & Estill; and three sisters: Robertta Halcomb, Rena Faye Fouts, and Clodine Browning. Bill leaves the following relatives surviving: one brother: JC Cress- Blacky, KY; one sister: Monette Coots-Cumberland, KY; seven children: Philmore Shepherd & Renate- Raeford, NC, Gregory Shepherd & Shanda- Hyden, KY, Billy Joe Shepherd & Daphne-Yeaddiss, KY, Thelma Lynn Merrill & Tim- Busy, KY, Linda Gail Asher & Chris-Lallie, KY, Marcella Marie Bradley & Cecil-Lost Creek, KY and Crystal Lee Mosley & Rhett-Yeaddiss, KY and eleven grandchildren. A host of many other relatives and friends also survive.
