Mrs. Reba Horton

Ms. Reba (Sizemore) Horton, born July 04, 1933, in Leslie County, KY, to the union of the late Keen and the late Madge (Begley) Sizemore departed this life on Monday, December 05, 2011 at the Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. She was 78 years of age and was residing at 267 Thousandsticks Road; Thousandsticks, KY at the time of her passing. Reba was a life-long resident of Leslie County and by occupation she was a retired nutritionist, employed by the Leslie County Extension Service. She served the citizens of Leslie County for 24 years as an EFNEP Assistant. She received numerous awards on behalf of the University Of Kentucky College Of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service for her meritorious service. She was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel in March, 1994 by Gov. Brereton C. Jones. She enjoyed outdoors, gardening, fishing and boating.Reba is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles G. Horton; one son, David Calvin Begley; three brothers: Estill Vernon, David and Monroe Sizemore. She is also preceded in death by two infant siblings: Mildred and William Sizemore.Ms. Reba Horton leaves the following relatives surviving: one daughter, Deborah Kay Woods and Buster of Hyden, KY; three loving granddaughters: Rebecca Kay Pennington and Marty of Hyden, KY, Jessica Gail Hacker and John of Hyden, KY and Lindsey Nicole Begley of Fulton, MS. four great-grandchildren: Tristan Kayson Martin Pennington, Aidan Buster Cole Pennington, Katelyn Danielle Hacker and Matthew Daniel Hacker; three brothers: Troy Lee Sizemore and Tammy of London, KY, James Sizemore and Juanita of Homer, MI and Johnnie Sizemore and Sally of Thousandsticks, KY; five sisters: Emma Lee Keen and David Wayne of Hyden, KY, Nancy Rose and Marvin of Bledsoe, KY, Fannie Mae Asher of Hyden, KY, Carolyn Asher of Hyden, KY and Ethel Scott and Pete of Anchorage, AK. A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.
