Norman J. Begley, 85, of Defiance, Ohio, died Wednesday December 28, 2016 at Community Health Professional Inpatient Hospice, Defiance, Ohio.
Born on October 29, 1931 in Leslie County, Kentucky, Norman was the son of the late Reuben and Emma (Stidum) Begley.
Norman was married to Fatima Eversole and she preceded him in death in October, 2016.
He worked at Grisley Corporation in Paulding, Ohio, was a life long farmer and retired as a truck driver from Shamrock Coal Company in Kentucky.
Norman enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, canning and his family.
Norman is survived by his children, Janice (Kenneth) Crawford of La Follett, Tennessee, Max (LouAnn) Begley of Defiance, Lynnette (Jimmy Green) Begley of Defiance, Robert Begley of Columbus, Ohio; a brother Everette Begley,(10) grandchildren; (22) great grandchildren; (3) great great grandchildren; (10) step grandchildren; (20) step great grandchildren; stepchildren, Charles (Rhonda) Watts, Gustena Napier, Charry Adams, and Bonnie (Michael)Couch.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Begley, a sister Verna Couch, a brother Johnnie Begley and two step sons, Billy and Potter Watts.
Funeral services for Norman will be Saturday at 11:00 at the Second Baptist Church, Defiance, Ohio with visitation one hour before the service. Visitation will also be Friday from 4:00 to 8:00, at the church.
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Crane Township.
Memorials may be made to Second Baptist Church.
