Opha M. Thompson

Opha Mae Thompson of Hargis Hollow Road, Bear Branch, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at the Albert B. Chandler UK Hospital in Lexington, KY. She was 63 - years, 5 - months and 15 - days of age at the time of her passing. She was born in Hyden, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Rebecca Muncy Asher and one of six children. She was a homemaker and a life long resident of Leslie County. Opha enjoyed gardening. Opha is preceded in death by her mother: Rebecca Muncy Asher and 1- sister: Phronia Asher. Opha Mae Thompson leaves surviving, 2 - daughters: Dorothy McDaniel (Wayne) of Manchester, KY and Melissa Couch (Randy) of Bear Branch, KY; 2 - brothers: Delbert Asher (Donna) of Asher, KY and P.J. Asher (Kathy) of Hyden, KY; 2 - sisters: Ann Smith (Bobby) and Pliney Morgan, both of London, KY; 6 - grandchildren, 1 - great-grandchild and a host of other family and friends survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. - Sunday, June 16, 2013 at the Couch's Fork Church of God. Burial will follow in the Abe Couch Cemetery at Bear Branch, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation after 6:00 P.M. - Friday, continuing until the funeral hour on Sunday at 11:00 A.M. at the church.
