Otis Coots

Otis Coots, age 48 of Hyden, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at the Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born February 24, 1967 in Leslie County, Kentucky to the union of the late Beatrice Coots and Leamon Maggard. Otis was a life long resident of Leslie County and was affiliated with the Rockhouse Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, going to church, basketball, and spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice Coots; one brother: Dale Baker; sister: Loretta Day;

Survivors include, his father: Leamon Maggard; two sons: Ottis Lee Coots and Timothy Dwight Roberts; one daughter: Ashley Leatherberry; two brothers: Danny Baker and Terry Baker; two sister: Daisy Baker Combs and Wilma Shepherd. two grandchildren: Isaac and Journey Leatherberry. A host of other friends and family survive his passing.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Coots Family Cemetery at Smilax, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
