Robert Adams

Robert Adams was born May 29, 1951, in Leslie County, KY to the union of the late Gordon and Eunice Joseph Adams.  He was united in marriage to Linda Sue Clark on February 21, 1970.

Robert had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and by occupation, he worked in the coal industry as a coal miner.  He retired from the Blue Diamond Coal Company after 33 years of hard, dedicated work to his profession. He took pride in his job and enjoyed every day he worked.

When not working and after retirement, Robert’s favorite place to be was outdoors.  He enjoyed bee keeping, four wheeling, fishing, hunting ginseng and gardening.

He departed this life on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY at the age of 73.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by one beloved son Jimmy Darrell Adams and one daughter Angel Baker.

Survivors include his loving & devoted wife Linda Sue Adams of Yeaddiss, KY, one son Robert Brian Adams & wife Gracie of Smilax, KY.

Other survivors include four brothers Jewells Adams of OH, Joe Adams of Yeaddiss, KY, Roger Adams of Smilax, KY, and Russell Adams of Vicco, KY.  One sister Betty Sue Estep of Yeaddiss, KY, five cherished grandchildren Emily Baker, Trevor Baker, Cayden Adams, Katilin Adams, and Robert Harold Adams.   One great-grandchild Dakota Baker.    As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The funeral service for Robert Adams will be held at 1p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024 at the Full Gospel Church of Jesus Christ at Smilax, KY with Rev. Billy Joe Lewis officiating.

Interment will follow in the Adams Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY.

The family will receive friends from 6p.m. – 9p.m. Wednesday evening at the church.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
