Robert "Robbie" L. Johnson

Robert L. "Robbie" Johnson was born November 19, 1968 in Lexington, Kentucky. He was the son of Bonnie Hacker Johnson Barrett and the late Robert "Bobbie" Joe Johnson.

Robbie had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and was currently residing as Stinnett, Kentucky. As a coal miner by occupation, Robbie worked from the age of 19 and dedicated the majority of his life to the coal industry until his retirement.

Described was a outdoorsman, Robbie enjoyed fishing, always excited for the next big catch; He was an avid hunter, especially for deer. He also enjoyed riding his ATV, enjoying the beauty and serenity of the great outdoors. Aside from the outdoors, Robbie enjoyed movies, NASCAR, and watching sports.

Robert L. Robbie Johnson, departed this life on Friday July 25, 2025 at his home. Robbie was 56 years old.

He leaves behind his beloved mother & step-father Bonnie Hacker Barrett & Chester Barrett, Jr., of Stinnett, KY, one son Tanner Johnson (Allison) of Stinnett, KY, two daughters Kaitie Johnson (Trevor Wells) of Hyden, KY, and Brooke Roberts (Brandon) of Stinnett, KY; One sister Trina Collett (Kenny) of Stinnett, KY, and his three precious grandchildren Ellie Johnson, Cora Roberts, and Iris Johnson. Special nephew and niece, Chandler (Emma) Napier, Allison Griffith (Josh), special great-niece Palmer Griffith, and special friend Shonda Lewis. A multitude of other cherished family and friends also mourn his passing.

Robbie was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joe "Bobbie" Johnson.

The funeral service to commemorate Robbie's life will be held at 1p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2025 at the Stinnett Gap Church of God with Rev. Geoffrey Roberts officiating.

Interment will follow the services at the Grassy Gap Cemetery at Wooton, KY.

Friends and family may gather for visitation from 12 noon until the service hour at 1p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
