Mr. Robert “Bob” Hoskins (of London, KY, formerly of Hyden, KY) was born June 12, 1933, at Stinnett, Kentucky, a son of the late Dewey and Ona Morgan Hoskins. He graduated from Stinnett Settlement School and went on to obtain a bachelor’s degree of History and Geography from Eastern KY University. Robert was a United States Army Veteran and served honorably at Fort Knox during the Korean War. Following his time served in the military, Robert came back to teach school. He was an educator for the Leslie County Board of Education with 30 years of dedicated service to the school system. Robert “Bob” owned and operated Hoskins T.V. and Repair (Radio Shack), along with his brother Gene for many years. There they repaired televisions, electronics and offered movie rentals. As times changed, so did electronics and the knowledge & equipment to repair them. Bob and Gene decided to close the store and retire. After retirement, Bob spent his days doing what he loved most, fishing, reading and flower gardening.
Robert “Bob” Hoskins departed this life peacefully on Sunday, February 13, 2022, with his family by his side. He was 88 years old.
In addition to his parents, Robert Bob Hoskins was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and David Hoskins, one sister, Daphne Hoskins, as well as two infant brothers and one infant sister.
Mr. Robert “Bob” Hoskins leaves behind his loving & devoted wife, Freda A. Hoskins of London, KY, to whom he wed on January 24, 1992; One Son, Dr. Robert C. Hoskins, Jr. (Victoria) of London, KY, one daughter, Deronda K. Hoskins Back (Ralph) of Jackson, KY, two stepsons, Chad Everett Morgan (Laura) and William “Kenny” McKinley Morgan (Patricia), both of London, KY. Other survivors include, one beloved brother, Eugene “Gene” Paul Hoskins of Stinnett, KY, two grandchildren, Allen Ryan Hoskins and Natasha Renee Hoskins and four step-grandchildren, Courtney Morgan, Karley Morgan, Kenley Fern Morgan and Kahlan Morgan. A host of friends, former coworkers, employees and relatives also survive.
Funeral service for Mr. Robert “Bob” Hoskins will be held at 1p.m. – Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in the chapel of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Roger Wolfe officiating.
Interment will follow the services at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Southeast – Hyden, KY. with full military honors performed by Leslie County D.A.V. Chapter # 133.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 11a.m. until the service hour at 1p.m. – Wednesday at the funeral home chapel.
