Ronald Wayne Rice

Ronald Wayne Rice, 77, of Saul, Kentucky departed this walk of life on Saturday, August 15, 2026 in Columbus, IN.  Ronald was born December 09, 1948 in Austin, IN to the late Luther and Opal Gay Rice.

Ronald worked the majority of his life in the construction industry.  He built many homes during his career as a carpenter.  Lastly, he was employed by the Milestone Construction Company for the past 15 years. He took great pride in his work, exemplifying true craftmanship in every little detail.  

Aside from dedicating his life to his career, Ronald Wayne was an avid cornhole player, and later took interest in Arm Wrestling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Travis Rice, his brothers Michael, Mark, and Lucas "Hank" Rice, as well as his long time significant other Renita Mullis.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, Trenton Rice of Columbus, IN,  three bothers Robert Rice of Saul, KY, Luther "Jack" Rice of FL, and Emory Rice of Manchester, KY;  Three cherished grandchildren Alysha Hampleman, Zachary Rice, and Cole Rice.  One cherished great granddaughter Lenora Hampleman.

The funeral service to commemorate the life of Ronald Wayne Rice will be held at 1p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026 at the Mt. Paran Baptist Church at Saul with Jerry Rice and Mike Gibson officating.

Interment will follow in the Granville Barger Cemetery at Saul with family serving as pallbearers. 

Friends and family may gather for visitation from 11am until the service hour at 1p.m., Thursday at the church.
