Roscoe Eversole, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 19, 2025, at the Hazard A.R.H. Medical Center in Hazard, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 21, 1953, in Hyden, Kentucky, the middle child of the late McGrew and Laura Rose Eversole.
Roscoe was a talented carpenter with a hard work ethic. He enjoyed a successful business career as the owner and operator of A-1 Home Improvements in Richmond, Indiana, for 38 years until his retirement. His business was not only a source of pride for him, but it also provided a great life for his family, reflecting his commitment and skill in his craft.
Known for his caring nature, Roscoe took immense pride in taking care of others. He was always ready to step up in times of need, helping in any way he could, which endeared him to many within his family and friends. He had an undying love for his family, cherishing every moment spent with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He often found joy in activities like fishing and hunting, which he enjoyed sharing with those he loved.
Roscoe is survived by his loving and devoted partner & wife of 50 years, Cathy Burke Eversole of Gays Creek, Kentucky; two sons, William Cassidy Eversole and Roscoe McGrew Eversole; one daughter, Roxanne Nicole Eversole; and three step-children, Roscoe Adams, James Adams, and Crystal Beatty, along with their families. He is also survived by three brothers, Bert Eversole (Jessica), Terry Eversole (Becky), and Terry McGrew Eversole; and four sisters, Poshia Lewis, Reda Fugate, Saralene Whitaker (Greg), and Serina Morgan (Bobby Don). In addition, Roscoe leaves behind three cherished grandchildren, Chassidy Marie Eversole (Michael), Casey Nicole Pierson (DJ), and Aris Lehman (Ian), along with eight great-grandchildren, and one on the way. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law, Betty Burke Abrams, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends who will miss him dearly.
Roscoe was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Rocky Eversole. He was also preceded by five brothers, Eddie, Bill, Carson, Dean, and Jerry, as well as his sisters-in-law, Shirley, Audrey, and Joyce.
The funeral service to commemorate the life of Roscoe Eversole will be held at 12 noon Monday, December 22, 2025 at Stinnett Church of Christ at Hoskinston, KY with his nephew, Jarrod "Bub" Eversole and Bobby Don Morgan officiating.
Interment will follow the service at the Eversole Family Cemetery at Hyden, KY.
Friends and family may gather for visitation after 6p.m. Sunday evening at the Stinnett Church of Christ.
