Mrs. Shirley Faye Lewis, born March 07, 1947 in Yeaddiss, KY to the union of the late James H. Coots and the late Susan Clark Coots. She departed this life on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, KY. She was 65-years, 08-months, and 20-days of age at the time of her passing. She was a life long resident of Leslie County and was residing at 477 Yeaddiss, Road - Yeaddiss, KY. She was united in marriage on February 16, 1966 in Cutshin, KY to Zora Lewis, Jr. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Cutshin Church of Christ at Smilax, KY. Shirley enjoyed flowers, gardening, making quilts and carpentry work. She also enjoyed cooking and canning. Most importantly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Shirley is preceded in death by: her parents; 1- brother: Junior Coots. Mrs. Shirley Fay Lewis leaves surviving the following relatives: Her loving and devoted husband: Zora Lewis, Jr. of Yeaddiss, KY; 1-son: Rodney Lewis (Tracy) of Hyden, KY; 2-daughters: Loretta Davis (Doug) and Elana Burkhart (Joey) both of Yeaddiss, KY; 3-brothers: Donald Coots (Lorie) of London, KY, Dover Coots (Faye) of Ohio and Henry Coots (Gloria) of TN; 3- sisters: Special sister: Mary Ann Hooker of TN, Betty Figureoa (Dario) of Berea, KY and Marie Eversole of Cynthiana, KY; sister-in-law: Magdalene Clark of Cincinnati, OH; 5-grandchildren: Jonah, Andrew, Tyler, Alexis and Sierra; Special friends: Judy Adams, Rita Coots and Sandy Pennington; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. - Friday, November 30, 2012 from the Cutshin Church of Christ with Tommy Lowe and Don Kilburn officiating. Burial will follow at the Lewis Cemetery at Yeaddiss, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home on Thursday Evening.
