Thelma Hubbard

Thelma Hubbard of Asher, Kentucky was born November 30, 1942 in Leslie County. She was the daughter of the late Wilson Chappell and the late Lucy Collett. Thelma had been a life-long resident of Leslie County and was of the Pentecostal faith.
Thelma was a homemaker, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Thelma loved nature; the mountains were her favorite place to be. She loved to dig roots, especially ginseng and turkey tongue. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her flower garden. She loved all flowers but her favorite was a bleeding heart.
Above all, Thelma cherished her family and the time she got to spend with them.
On Thursday morning, March 07, 2024, Thelma departed this life. She was 81 years old.
In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carlo Hubbard; three children William James Hubbard, Jimmy Dean Hubbard and Mary Helen Mosley' two step sons L.B and Carlo Hubbard; two brothers Wiley and Thomas James Collett, as well as one sister Lola Collett.
Thelma leaves behind four beloved children: two sons Jesse Lee Hubbard and Pearl Hubbard, both of Asher, KY; two daughters Thelma Jean Napier of Stinnett, KY and Lucy Franks of Asher, KY; four sisters Daisy Brock of TN, Georgia Carol Collett of Wooton, KY, Hattie Collett of Wooton, KY and Chloe Collett of Essie, KY; eight cherished grandchildren Aaron Hubbard, Carlo Hubbard, Benjamin Hubbard, Angel Hubbard, Richard Franks, Crystal Franks, Natasha Jean Howard, Joshua Gary Napier and Genna Hubbard; nine cherished great-grandchildren Alani Hubbard, Carley Hubbard, Jenifer Hubbard, Olivia Hubbard, Areia Hubbard, Kadance Hubbard, Patience Hubbard, Caleb Hubbard and Elijah Howard. Many treasured friends and family also mourn her passing.
The funeral service will be held at 2p.m. - Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the Lower Middlefork Pentecostal Church of God at Asher, KY with Tommy Hubbard and Ralph Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in the Bowen's Creek Cemetery at Essie, Kentucky.
The family will receive friends for visitation after 6p.m. - Monday evening at the church.
Arrangements are being handled carefully under the direction of Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home
