Theadore "Teddy" Scott Barber

Theadore "Teddy" Scott Barber, 46, of Hazard, Kentucky born on December 6, 1979 to the late Clayton & Diane Barber.  Teddy passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. 

Teddy possessed a great sense of humor and was known as a people person, always bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He had a love for music, and enjoyed singing. He was a devoted fan of Elvis Presley and also enjoyed classic country music.  He loved to dine out, and be social with others while he enjoyed his meal.  

Teddy's time was enriched by the company of his cherished friends and housemates, Darrell, Matthew, and Tina. He shared a special bond with his friends Dan Howard, Jennifer Combs, Melissa Godsey, and Sabrina Collins, all of whom offered him companionship and support in his life. Additionally, Teddy's sister-in-law, Angel Barber, played a significant role in his life, providing her unwavering love and encouragement.

He was well cared for by the dedicated staff and caretakers of Soaring Potentials, who attended to him with genuine love and concern, helping to ensure his happiness and comfort throughout his life.

Teddy was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Diane Barber, and his brother, Sean Barber. Their memories will always hold a special place in the hearts of those who survive him.

The funeral service to commemorate the life of Theadore "Teddy" Barber will be held at 1p.m. - Thursday, March 05, 2026 at the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Hazard, KY.

Interment will follow in the Collett Family Cemetery at Essie, KY with Staff and friends serving as his pallbearers.

Friends may gather to pay their final respects to Teddy from 11a.m. until the service hour at 1p.m. on Thursday at the church.
