Tim Surer

Mr. Tim Surer, age 54 of Granny Fork Road, Smilax, KY, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014 at his residence. Tim was born July 16, 1960 in Gary, Indiana to the union of the late George Surer and the late Mable Pennington Surer. By occupation, Tim worked as a Electrician until becoming disabled. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar and fishing. Tim often volunteered at the Apple Shop, and WMMT 88.7 as a DJ. He also volunteered much of his time to the W.B. Muncy Grade School at Wooton, Kentucky. Tim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Tim was united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife, Darlene on December 16, 1986.

Tim leaves surviving, his loving and devoted wife: Darlene Fields Surer of Smilax, KY; two beloved daughters: Cynthia Maggard (Floyd Chris) of Hyden, KY, and Chelsea Surer (Donald Clark) of Yeaddiss, KY; two brothers: Larry Surer (Angela) and Jeff Surer (Carol) both of Indiana; one sister: Rhonda Surer of Indiana; two cherished grandchildren: Lucas and Cecilia Maggard of Hyden, KY; father-in-law: Marion "Tootsie" Fields of Smilax, KY; A host of other family and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. - Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home chapel with Virgil Hurt officiating. Burial will follow in the Fields Cemetery at Smilax, KY. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Wolfe & Sons Funeral Home.
